Choosing the best location for installation of the Signal Antenna provides the best performance and the largest area of improved signal. I live 5 miles north of town. The service outside my house is bad, but good enough to make and receive a call. Inside the house, the service falls just below the level of being usable. Data is out of the question inside and out.
I bought the zBoost, hoping to get my outside signal inside, that didn't happen. Like many other people that have reviewed this product, I found that the coverage area isn't 2,500sq/ft its more like 12.56636sq/ft. If my phone was within 2ft of the base station, I had full service and could make calls. Moving further than 6ft from the base station, I would be returned to 1 or none bars.
On the bright side, amazon is a rock star dealing with returns, and I still fully back them.
For sprint users, which I am a new one. I called and told them about my problem. I qualified as a premier member (pay more than $70 a month or be with sprint for 10+years qualifies you). They were extremely nice and provided a Airave V2 Femtocell tower. The Airave arrived, and after waiting for 2+hours for the unit to configure the mobile portion of the setup, I found I had full, 3g service, everywhere in my house. Any one who is a sprint subscriber, I strongly recommend you don't buy the zBoost and contact sprint about a Airave V2. It requires a high speed connection of 40k up and down, pretty easy bar to meet these days. I am 100% satisfied now, and have healthy, reliable service everywhere in my two story house.
If you're a security nut like myself, you can setup the Airave V2 as the DMZ host behind your router. Mine seems to work perfectly in this configuration. Now I don't have to worry about sprint monitoring my network traffic either, its a win win solution. |

| I started with the cheap decal "signal boosters" you peel & stick to the inside of your cellphone. Then I got an add-on extendable antenna. Then I bit the hand grenade and shelled out the $300 for this booster. I have the antenna mounted in the highest peak of my attic, snaked the coax cord down through a corner of a closet, to the base in my office. It worked. The range is limited, about 25 feet, but I have cell service again. It's frustrating to have to build my own "cellphone tower" for AT&T, but thats about what it boils down to. |

| I was getting 1 to 2 bars in most of my house, no signal in the basement. On my roof I could get 4 to 5 bars so I thought this would be just what I needed to get reliable calls anywhere in the house. I mounted the antenna on the roof, ran the coax cable down to our kitchen (which is more or less centrally situated in the house. I then was able to get 4 to 5 bars in the kitchen (sometimes 2 or 3 if I was on the far side of the kitchen opposite the antenna, which is in one corner. In the rest of the house I see no improvement in the signal at all. I then ordered the upgrade antennas (xy-029 directional exterior, and xy-027 interior ) but saw no improvement at all. I returned the two upgrade antennas and am living with the original setup. At least I can make and receive calls in my kitchen. |

| I bought this because I live out in the country and cell signal is limited at best. In the house it was almost impossible to get a signal and make a call. We installed this and put the antenna on an outside 30 foot CB tower we no longer used. The receiver sits on a table in the house. We immediately got 4 or 5 bars depending on where you are in the house. Let me add I live in a very old farm house (150 yrs+) with 15 inch thick brick walls. This unit will pick up a cell call and keep it connected even if you are outside the house. We have Sprint as our carrier and have had no problem. I can also use it with my Kindle for downloading books. |

| This did not work in the second location used. If you don't get a signal outside the house, amplifying nothing still is nothing. In another location where we had an outside signal but the walls were concrete and steel (a former bank), the unit worked great. They give a 30 money back guarantee so it gives you time to try it. |
